I don't like when I misplace something, and someone says "If it was up your ass you'd know where it was". Ya think? That's bordering on tautology.

"It's always in the last place you look." :D

Ha!

Some that annoy me:

1) "All I know is (insert opinion here)."

It's not "all" you know, and it it was I'd be even less inclined to just blindly agree without real evidence.

2) "I could care less."

It's "I couldN'T care less," you illiterate filth.

3) "A leopard can't change it's spots."

Maybe true, but humans can change certain of their behaviors, so think twice before just accepting the current state of affairs.

"Ahead of its time"

Nothing is ahead of its time. We are all and everything is in the time that it is in, not before or after, ahead or behind. What ever is is a sign of the time that it is in and that's it!

It just refers to something that society accepts at a future date, but when the concept was originally introduced people didn't know what to do with it. It's a very apt phrase.

If you want to attack a phrase, go for "Straight from the horse's mouth". I don't want to accept anything from a horse's mouth. It's all drippy and slobbery, and they'll pretty much open their mouth for anyone with a carrot or an apple.

The way I see it the OP doesn't grasp that there can indeed be inventions/technologies/ideas discovered before society and people are ready to adapt to them.
