phpadnews / other ways to include ad code

I want to include ad code on many pages, and have the ability to change the ads if I want to.

best way I have thought to do this is with a php include/ssi.

I installed phpadnews and have been playing with it, but I am wondering if anyone else has some more indepth experience as to how I should do this?

Should I still put an include in, so i can put new phpadnews banner invocations in?

I am just a bit confused.
