Posting this question on a few forums:

Hi, I am interested in purchasing some books on PHP/mysql. Only one I would think of purchasing off the top of my head would be the Dummies series. So, I am looking for input and suggestions from you all. What helped you, what didn't, etc.

Currently, I run a PHP based image hosting webpage. [ www.pichold.com ]. I know enough to get by, and to edit prewritten code. But, I'd like to be the pre-writer of the code. To be able to script things off the top of my head.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, if you have any programming knowledge at all, just use PHP.net's resources. It doesnt get too much better than that... it's not for the layman, but it's real good.

^^ that is true, but I like the fact that I can sit down somewhere other than my computer, and read the book. Then when I go back to code, I can just take out my notes and review what I wanted to do while I was reading. I really don't feel like printing off half of the php.net site either ;)
