GhostSoldier, installing the drivers and having the system blue screen several times messed up my W2K installation so bad I had to reformat and reinstall. I'll wait until there are new W2K drivers.
It wasn't the drivers dude, why would it work on every system but yours?
Try either disabling the card reader monitor (start > run > "hpha1mon /off" or installing the basic driver by going through the "Add-A-Printer" wizard (point it the x:\enu). You won't be able to use the card reader that way, but may have better luck installing.
GhostSoldier, I'm not the only person. I've seen reports from two other people with Dell Inspiron 8000s running W2K that had the same problem. There's some odd conflict with the I8000 with W2K (WinMe didn't have this problem). It isn't even a problem with some of Dell's software since I had the problem even when I installed generic W2K on the I8000 without any other software.
BTW, I'm guessing you had the installation instructions sent to me by HP. Thanks, but I've followed them.
Oh now I get it. Well, it's not really fair to blame our driver, since the issue is limited to a particular company's particular model of computer. Did you try turning off the card reader like I suggested? If you'd like, PM me and I'll give you my phone number. I'll walk you through it. If it doesn't work, I'll let someone at corporate know.
I liked the P1100 from staples pm deal at xmas. Liked it even more when i took it back as xmas exchange and got 400 credit to apply towards the 1215 model. The 1215 is uncanning. Just framed and matted an 8x10 at michaels. Looks wonderful.
