The last pic is pretty damn amazing. What did you do to touch up the photo?
I duplicate the background layer.
Then I use the lasso tool to select all the details, like the hair, eyes, bikini
I delete them.
Then I use the diffuse anisotropic filter tool twice.
Then I use the eraser tool to erase anything that it blurred that shouldn't.
next I flatted the image and set the levels and saturation.
lastly, the wall was looking dithered, so I lasso up the walls, or the places that looks dithered, and I use the gaussian blur tool on it.

Your first is the second best, but I like his darker colors better. The second picture is just too blue.

The OP didn't just blur his picture, not anywhere close!
His contrast is way too high. It was high to the point that the hair lost many dark shades.
I think you need some photoshop skills yourself to be a good judge

Wow, I just woke up and this is still going? Awesome.
I seem to like the solid colours more though because they're brighter... Not lighter, but the blues are darker and the tones are richer.. but that's just me.

I am currently rendering the winning submission. It's taken about 10 minutes so far and is using 98% of my processor's capacity. I can't wait to see what it looks like. I built a macro to do it, I'm throwing that bad boy away

These two are nice... The first one looks like it's airbrushed though, but it has a richer tone...
The second is good too, but you can see individual hairs on Jolin much clearer.
