I recently got married and would like to modify some of our wedding pictures with either Paintshop Pro, Photoshop, or another program. I assume either one of these packages will suffice for this job but the question is: which program would work best for this application; which program of this type give the most bang for the buck and how much should I expect to spend? Thanks in advance for your opinion.

best bang for your buck: paint shop pro. It simple to use, and cheaper than Photoshop.

I've always been a fan of PSP. Great program. It and Photoshop are both excellent. Photoshop is big $$. You can download PSP 7 eval. from the JASC web site. Neither are really for novice users. For an easy program, Adobe PhotoDeluxe is pretty good.

Ditto - Paint Shop Pro. Great value and a good program.

You may want to look in to some of the photo specific software. I tried out paintshop Pro and it is a really great package, but I found that for what I needed, PhotoSuite from MGI did the job for 1/3 the price.

PSP definitely. It doesn't have the complete power of Photoshop but I use PSP for the majority of graphic work I do simply because Photoshop isn't required.
