is there a way to make every other pixel transparent?
I'm using photoshop 7. Was wondering if there was a way to do this.

zoom in, and erase every other pixel.

I was hoping there was a better way than that.
It would take forever to erase every other pixel.

Make a transparent 2 by 2 pixel file, and make the top left and bottom right pixels white or black or whatever. Select all and define as a pattern.

Go back to your original document, make a new layer, select fill and fill with pattern, choose the new checkerboard pattern you made, and fill.

Select > Load selection, switch to the layer (or layers) you want to change, and hit delete to clear every other pixel.

Delete/hide/get rid of the checkerboard layer from which you made the selection.

At least, that's how I understood the question.

I must be doing something wrong. I can't make a transparent pattern. The pattern just shows up as solid colors. So I get lost after the "Select > Load Selection" part.

And I tried to delete a single color from my pattern layer, but that didn't work either. :(
