Here is the picture.

Fishing

I want to use this picture on my Dad's memorial. Is it possible to remove the hat in the left side of the picture?

If anybody want's to give it a try, PM me and I will email you the high definition version of the picture (1.7 MB) in jpg format.

I will pay a reasonable rate for the best resulting picture using paypall. I need this for Monday morning.

I took a crack at it.. I honestly don't see anyone being able to replicate the gradient and ripples with the proper colors.

Aside from cropping it I don't think you'll be able to do anything.
 
I used a clone stamp tool. Basically it takes a small area and copies it to where you point it at. It's very tedious work, in this case, to copy many spots of water to where hat was so it doesn't look very noticeable...

edit: patching? damn, forgot about it 🙂 I remember I used to hide holes in the mountain wall (during tutorial) with patching, and removing wrinkles from dude's face.

and levels I guess to make it look similar in color to other water?

Yeah, that's the technique, but as you can see I didnt spend time on it and didnt do a very careful job. Clone stamping will take you all night and will never look good on this pic. Use layer masks. It'll make it easier to blend. You may have to burn and dodge a bit as well.

I'm sure there are some around.
I'm a graphic designer, I use photoshop alot, so this is just my own style of doing it.
There are probably many other ways.
Everyone picks up their own style and the way they like to do it.
 
Cattlegod - I don't know any sites, but maybe google for "Photoshop basics" or something...quick search turns up gazillion tutorials like "how to make a glass ball", "how to create an exploding planet", etc. You don't need this, and I think a good (e)BOOK for beginners is your best bet.

Got pic from OP, I may or may not do it - ThePresence is a graphic designer, and I'm just a student who had Photoshop class in school...
