Photoshop for newbies?

I'm an idiot. I'm a retard. I don't understand channels, the Alt-Ctrl-Shift shortcuts, or really anything else about Photoshop, although I do enjoy playing with filters on images.
I've played around with making text look nice and slicing up images in Imageready, but I still can't make the actual images that good.
Now, the challenge I present to you is, find me a site that would cater to someone of my skill level, by presenting me with some nice little tutorials to make neat looking things, easily.
Something like this I'd really like to learn how to do, but more importantly, learn to do it right out of my own head by memory rather than having to read the steps. 🙂 I realize a textbook is probably the best way to go, but I'd like to see if it's possble to learn this stuff online at all.

I'm not looking for free logos, just a little direction in how to help myself. 🙂

I just accuired Photoshop the other day (we'll leave it at that), but I have no idea how to use it, I think I'll try a few of Maul's tutorials when I get home. Link em up!

Didn't the program come with an instruction manual when you bought it? 🙂

Or was that not included in the zip file....?

It's a legit copy (legit in the sense that it's the real CD, not a download), but I got just the CD from work, couldn't find the manual. No one was was using it, and it looked lonely, so I brought it home. 😀
