Photoshop Elements Trial & Vista - Cannot get it to work

I've tried everything I can think of, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get Photoshop Elements (trial) to work in Vista.

I installed Elements as Admin, installed fine. When i load elements, it gets to the main screen then says "An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application."

I came across a Vista patch for Elements, but when i run it, it says "Setup cannot find a retail Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. Please Reinstall before applying this update. Setup will be aborted"

So... any ideas? Reinstalling does nothing.

amazing, i just got off the phone with Adobe. They will not provide me any support unless i purchase the product.

Sorry but im not spending $100 unless I can guarantee the damn thing will work and it does what I need it to do. Whatta crock.

lol, i just tried calling back again... this time to a different department, downloads.

the guy couldnt find my account that i created to download the trial, so he created one for me. After repeating my address all of eight times, he put me on hold. that was 11 minutes ago. seriously? they expect me to pay for this crap?
