Photoshop Elements 3.0

I'm trying to do a project for class and the professor told us to download this program to do whatever editing we had to do. But after I edit the two pictures and put everything where it's supposed to be it won't save. Is this something with the trial version that you can't save your work or am I doing something wrong?

What does the error message say?

There is no error message, i just click save or save as and it does nothing. Sometimes the program will freeze and I have to click somewhere outside the program and it will unfreeze.

Yu might check for and remove any CDs/DVDs in your drives, and remove any USB devices -- this might be a Windows file system problem as Save (as) tries to list all your drives.
