Hey is there a program close to photoshop that is either cheap or freeware? Im looking for something that

1) opens and saves jpeg. tiffs, etc etc
2) Has a cloning tool or something close to it
3) Can crop, reduce, enlarge images

Paint Shop Pro is $79.00 on the Corel site. It's a very robust photo editor near the same level as Photoshop. I'm sure a legit copy can be had for much cheaper on eBay.

Adobe PS Elements 4.0 or PaintshopPro X - both excellent! PSP-X now handles RAW formats from several cameras.

Mess around with the freeware and then look for PS Elements on sale. The PS Photoshop/Premiere Elements bundle was $49 after rebates last BF I believe.

I've seen Paint Shop Pro X on Ebay for around $40. Very nice program and highly reccommend if you do not have the funds for Photoshop.

Gimp will do everything you need and is free. I personally use Photoshop Elements 2.0 and like it more than Gimp. You can get this older version of Elements on Ebay for about $20.

I have PS Elements 2.0 and 4.0 installed on my machine and use 2.0 more often just because they got rid of the simple file browser. To open a file in 4.0 you need to open this seperate standalone browser thing and then port the picture over to the actual program to edit, pain in the arse.....
