On Singapore Airlines, for example, an Aug. 14-21 round-trip between London and Singapore on A380 flights was priced Wednesday at $14,505 for a suite, or $1,556 for a coach seat. On Australia’s Qantas Airways, the span was even greater. A coach seat from Los Angeles to Sydney and back on A380 flights for the same dates could be had for as little as $818; first-class seats on the same flights cost $24,538 round-trip.

😱

Yep. First class and business class are not cheap on flights like those..

Nice amenities, but such things wouldn't be so much an issue if only we had some aerospace planes doing there thing, getting us where we need to go nice and quick *dreams* :hmm:

The difference in pricing is whether you want to sit in a seat for 12-18 hours (or more), or have the chance to sleep in a bed for a good portion of the trip. Wife and I are looking for an overseas trip next year and we are looking to fly 1st class for the bed scenario.

Then again, we are DINCs (Dual Income No Children) with a decent income to finally take a vacation (after 8-9 years). Some of the prices I've seen for the 1st class bed-flights were <$5K/ticket.

I dont think these have a "general" class, I was looking at a Emirates Flight from NY to India via Dubai and the cheapest ticket was $7500... more than business class on any other airlines... wow...

In fact most of the pictures are kinda disappointing... the economy and business for most of the airlines (except SA) are no different... I never flew first class so cant speak about it. IMHO, the extra bucks for A380 is not worth it.. 🙁

I've only flown in economy from Sydney to LA and back, but it was much better then any other economy. Appeared to be more room and the plane was heaps quieter inside.
