Photo Printer vs Printer

Will a photo printer print out to the edge of sheet of paper? My ink jet leaves a border around the edge and I am guessing that is where the printer grabs the paper. Is this correct? I am trying to print photos with no borders. Just edge to edge photo.

You have to use 1 borderless Printer such as the Canon I550, and up series along with it's software which gives the option.

Canons from S750 to date are borderless. i850 is a real good compromise photo printer. 4800 dpi and u can get cartridges cheap or refill AND FAST, faster than i550.
Some of the newer HPs are borderless as well. But you'll go broke feeding them ink. Out of all the products HP makes they make the most profit on inkjet cartridges and Toner. Beware, HP.
If you can wait, Canon should be coming soon with a 4800 dpi 6 cartridge photo printer which will be the best yet but it will be mo' money than the i850/i550.

Yay for borderless printing Canons.
My Canon S900 astounded me with its borderless prints on 4x6 on up to 8.5 x 11.

Yes, macro2 has said previously that the Canon i850 beats out the S900 on picture, speed and price.

How is the color on the canons? I have a S750 and it prints distinctly green. It is bad enough that I've ashcanned my plan to replace my epson photo 780 with the s900.

(I realize the s750 is 4 color and the epson is 6 but the damned thing shouldn't print green.)

But are they green? (Not, like, martian green, but a slight green cast to the greys and blacks.)

I love the borderless printing. You just tell it to print that way and it does it. The Epson hasn't printed a borderless print yet. Even when using its own software. (And it claims it can.)
