well as some of you might be aware I've been doing a daily photoblog (57 days and running woohoo!) and occasionally i take a shot that I'm really proud of. Here is one from tonight with no post processing. Please let me know what you think

what i was looking for was something that would do well with a long exposure and not require me to drive more than 5 minutes

I think there's too much empty space on the right. Consider a fairly square crop, removing the right side of the picture just to the left of the streetlight nearest to the church (try to cut off the flare from that light while you're at it). I could go on with a few other things, but this isn't a photo critique site as such, and everybody would bitch at me for picking too many nits. Anyway, it's pretty good.

All taken with my 20D and 17-40L. Some post processing done, but nothing drastic.

EDIT: The nighttime shot was a 30 second exposure, can't remember the f-stop though, but taken at ISO 100. This was taken from the Moana Surfrider Waikiki, and the pic is of Diamond Head.

The city shot is downtown los angeles, taken from Mt. Hollywood (Griffith Park hike/trail).

nice shots, the last is def my favorite

isn't the 17-40L amazing 🙂

Hey thanks! 🙂 Yeah the 17-40L was the first lens I got for my 20D, and I love it. I also have a 70-200L f4, and the 50 f1.8.

Do you have the 50 f1.8? Best $75 I've ever spent!
