What the sam hell does SF4 and Crysis benches have to do with the Phoronix Linux benches?

It was for the link , wich is down currently , since you complained
about the FX being overclocked , the linked site made a review
at stock frequency....and using Windows...

They may not have access to the 3770K at the time.

Haha, took a while for that option to come up, didn't it :p

Woohoo.

CPU launches are getting more and more dull.

Was hoping for Phenom I to Phenom II shift, I new better, but was still hoping. No new node to save them this time around.

Here's to hoping they can pull out an efficient 6T part for my HTPC that is currently running an old AMD four banger.

According to the phoronix article date, the article was published tomorrow! We can see into the future!

Who knows where the article was written? Could it have been Europe which is hours ahead?

I wasn't complaining about it being overclocked, or using Linux.

I was complaining because they tested that suite of special tests on Linux with stock 8350, OC 8350, and stock 3770K.

Missing was the OC 3770K with the same exact tests and app/OS/driver versions, important to do apples/apples comparison.

*nearly* nobody buys a K-series chip only to run it at stock, so the test was incomplete IMHO.

at $195 the 8350 looks really good for some applications, OK for others and simply poor in some cases, but overall it's a good step, improving what they have... the low ST performance and power usage are still a big problem, but overall it just feels a good amount better...

A few comparisons with CPUs overclocked with a slightly higher
frequency for the 3770K and almost only mltithreaded apps...
