PhoneSuit MiLi Power Pack, iPhone Battery

Picked up the Phonesuit Mili power pack iPhone battery last week. So far I am happy with it. The look and feel is like that of the iPhone plastics. It also has a few color combination's to choose from. Black and White base colors for your iphone color. The battery itself is pretty amazing, I can now charge my iPhone + Mili at night, leave for work at 8am and come home at 7pm with still 2 mili bars left and a fully charged iphone. Before the mili, the iPhone wouldn't even last me till the ride home unless i was charging it at my desk during the day.

Here's some reviews:

And the link

I gotta have this!!! Even with how big it is, iPhones will still be thinner than a DARE or a lot of other touch screen phones. the external USB connector so you can charge other devices like a Bluetooth headset is freaking awesome.

This is my next purchase thanks for the link man 😀

Yeah, I'm with you, Motionman. I have the Zap too - and it works fine - but this is much slicker.

I wonder how they got it to work with both a 2G and a 3G iPhone - you'd think the 3G would be swimming around in a case made for the 2G.

Wonder how my 1g Touch will fit in it, even if it's loose I'm still going ot end up getting this I imagine.

This is awesome.

Anyone want to buy my Zap! so I can buy one of these?

🙁

Never mind, my Zap seems to have died today. 🙁

I am going to pull the receipt and see if I can return it and get one of these MiLis.

Sounds similar. My zap died last week.

At least now we can justify buying the MiLi 😉

How long did you have your Zap? I bought mine in November and used it very sparingly. It was fine two days ago.

I bought it back in July 2008. I used it probably about once every month. I used it on long car trips and when travelling. I think it probably went through about 30 full charge/discharge cycles. I don't feel like I got my money's worth out of it - it was around $60 to buy. That's $2 per charge.

I travelled to California last week and it was fine before I left. I charged it up, took it to California and used it on the plane and then in the car. Then I plugged it in at night, and there were no lights. I plugged in my phone to it and when I woke in the morning, the phone was totally powered off and the Zap unit still showed no lights. I powered up the phone and the battery was dead.

Since then the Zap doesn't do anything. No lights, no effect from charging, no effect of the button on the back. It's dead. I was thinking about taking it apart and seeing the status of the battery inside by looking at it directly.

That sounds exactly like what happened to me. The only difference is that when I plug the Zap in now, if I press the button I get a red light, but only as long as I hold the button.

I sent an e-mail last night to the co. I bought it from seeking assistance and/or advice.

I am going out of the country next month, so I need to have something. I will by the MiLi or this other one I was looking at.

Yeah, seems like I got ripped off.

I think I recommended it to you, Motion. If so, I'm very sorry. It seemed like a good product... right up until it stopped working.

I'm going to Europe in 2 weeks and I'm thinking the same thing. It'll be a 17 hour door-to-door trip. I'm currently planning on going the super cheap method and just using a Duracell Mobile AA NiMH charger that I bought for $16 (with batteries - http://www.amazon.com/Duracell...CEF23DX2/dp/B000XSBVK2 ). It has a USB out and that works with the iPhone. The MiLi looks awesome and my finger was almost on the buy button, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on a solution until I talk to Zap! or fix the thing myself.

If I do not hear back from the co. I bought it from by the end of today, I will order something over the weekend.

UPDATE:

I contacted the company I bought the Zap from. They put me in contact with someone at the manufacturer who gave me a RMA# and told me to ship the dead unit to them. He said that, when they receive it, they will ship me a new one.

I recently purchased a Phonesuit Mili that is en route right now, because I needed something fast for my upcoming travels, but at least the manufacturer seems to be standing behind their product. We shall see how long this one lasts.

Sounds like the Zap causes a lot of issues. I've been using the phonesuit MiLi for a while now with no issue. Still holds a good charge.
