Curious if folks have suggestions that I'm not thinking of. My parents have been using LG G2 phones I picked up on sale a year and a half ago ($200 each) that were great bargains and big upgrades from their dumbphones.
What's important is good battery life (since they often forget to charge every night), a great camera in auto mode (they use it to take everything), and not too large (the G2 is honestly as large as they want, smaller is even better). The G2 is great on two of these, but the camera isn't very good compared to phones today and suffers in motion and low light.
The G4 came to mind but it's just way to big for them and the larger screen is a waste for them - they text, use a messenger app, take calls, and very occasionally surf (seriously like 50mb a month). But new on swappa for around $300 is pretty tempting.
The only other choices in that price range (but +75) are mint S6 and iPhone 6. They both meet the need for cameras, but only the iPhone 6 likely meets their battery life needs (little usage with long periods of sleep), though neither are really ideal.
Anything else I'm missing? The Z3 compact comes to mind and is even cheaper used, but the camera isn't at the same level in auto.
I'd like to avoid spending anymore than the above, with $300 each being ideal.
