Hey guys, i just finished getting the Diamond Phoneline 10mbps Networking PCI Cards & Am having one heck of a problem getting them to run. The software it came with won't even install since i'm running WindowsXP. I've been trying to get ICS to work but it continuously says Network Cable Disconnected & can't work. I've tried Automatic IP Address/DNS, i've tried putting them in myself, but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

btw, one of my cards detects as a Broadcom Iline, is that normal?

thanks in advance

OKOKOK, UPDATE*********************

i connected the 2 computers directly to each other with a phone cord, & now the HOST can see the connection, but the CLIENT still says "NETWORK CABLE UNPLUGGED"

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

dude..

no one ask u to install the software, the software is for 98, not xp...
u only need the "driver", download the win2k driver from diamondmm.com

I don't have problem with xp, though I nuke it and go back to 2k coz don't like xp...
post here if u have more info...

well, the reason i didn't use the Win2k drivers is cuz WindowsXP automatically detected & installed it's own drivers for it. Should i ditch those & use the Diamond W2k?

Also, by software, i meant that program they include which is supposed to do all the networking config for you. Any ideas?

> No, the software is junk.. install the drivers only, and configure yourself

are u on dsl or cable, how many pc u plan to connect... ?

and if u are running software firewall, disable it...
try pinging from each other machine to see what happen...

I have a cable modem, hooked up to a D-Link Router, which is connecting 3 computers. From one of those computers (WinXP), is where i installed the phoneline card. When i initially check on Internet Connection Sharing, it says the IP is already used or something like that. However, when i changed the Router's IP, i got nothing but problems.

Also, i tried installing the Wingate from Wingate's website, and that just messed up everythiing. Is there an easier way to do this?

ok, here are my exact settings:
BOTH are running WindowsXP Pro, both have the Win2k Drivers installed....both get the "NETWORK CABLE IS UNPLUGGED" icon

when i try to check ON ICS on LAC 2 i lose my internet connection on the Host PC. WHY IS THIS?!?!

wow.. router + HPNA...

no wonder so hard for u to set up... LOL

isolate the 2 PC w/ HPNA from network and connect them with phone card at the back to each other...
this will rules out the chance u have a bad phone jack...

PM me and I may walk u through the setup
hint.... hint.... (no free lunch)
