this is a non-main phone.

I think what I'm looking for is a way for the phone to act as a DLNA receiver. But it would be nice to be able to queue tracks. So, run the phone in hotspot mode, people connect to that w
no that wouldn't work because if they tried to play music it wouldn't load because the hotspot doesn't have a data connection

so then maybe it would be possible to Ad-Hoc the hotspot to my actual cellphone with data, and then point the IP gateway to my actual phone with data? That way they could access the DLNA receiver, but also queue youtube videos/music.

My phone is connected to Bluetooth. And if my friend wants to plug in, I have them use the 3.5mm headphone jack connection and switch to that input. I don't think my car lets me pair a new phone to the bluetooth while the car is moving, otherwise I might let them try that too.

Why don't you pay for the Google Music or Rhapsody subscription....then hand them the phone and let them search/select what you queue.... That would provide the music you think they have that you don't and would probably be cheaper (since time is money) than trying to engineer something.

Your problem doesn't need a solution as there are already measure put in place for people who complicates things.

can only pair one at once, requires me to interact with the bluetooth to do so, can't queue songs, etc....

But the problem with DLNA is not everyone's phone is setup to do that easily. For example if they have an iPhone you will need a way to take an Airplay stream. Kodi can do all of that, but I don't know if there is a skin that is safe to use while driving.

I put in an 8 track just to make sure nobody else would bring tapes.

:^D

I'd be bringing my box of tapes I haven't heard in years. Hope you like my music. I'm such a nice guy, I'll even give you one of my adjustment tools...

the BT rcv'er is mounted to my center console. to repair to the torque-phone requires too much work. it's not worth it. whine

Your fault for installing it somewhere inaccessible, instead of over engineering a solution place your bt receiver somewhere you can hit the pairing button with ease. Solution's probably free too, and your friends won't have to rely on your lame music collection. And what does anyone need to see realtime engine stats for anyways? Does the term ricer still exist?

edit: that was mean and you're probably a kid, apologies. take this old man's advice: keep it simple, stupid.

it's quite accessible to me.

there is not pairing button, you have to old it down for 5-8 seconds.

Bro do you know what AFR is? I watch the AFR to maintain engine efficiency and reduce smog from unburned hydrocarbons. Any time it's not 14.7, I'm literally exhausting unused money out the back
