Phone Area gives battery life win to Xperia Z3, bests every other phone

The Xperia Z3 managed to last almost nine and a half hours with its screen on at our uniform brightness setting and with our tasking script running on it. This is more than any other flagship we've measured so far - phone or phablet - and even more than the Ascend Mate7, which comes equipped with a whopping 4100 mAh juicer, while the Z3 has an "only" 3100 mAh piece in a 7.3mm thin waterproof body.

The Z3 Compact, on the other hand, broke absolutely all records by a wide margin, scoring the out-of-this-world 14 hours and 44 minutes on our test, with its 4.6" HD display and 2600 mAh battery - that would translate to roughly three days of normal usage on a charge, and is the best result of any brand-name handset out there.

Sweet!!! Man, I was tempted to get the Z2 instead of the M8 (M8 has best battery this time). Hopefully the next round of 64bit SoCs - Sony can also have sick battery life. I'll be buying their handset for sure then!

I heard the end of October...this might imply it coming sooner, but it might not be soon enough to help me, since there's no actual stores near me and I have to have it shipped.

Yeah, I haven't really put much stock in them before... but according to their stats it'll double the battery life of my S4 active. That would be fantastic, but that seems pretty far fetched.

I will say that it caught my eye though. The charging port on my phone seems to be having issues, so I may be in the market sooner than expected.

Another point for the Z3 compact if that's true. I'm really split between getting this or the OnePlue One.

Has there been any news about the Z3C being available in the US? All I've read so far is that just the regular Z3 will be on T-Mobile at some point.

rumors would be the Sony USA site allowing orders (dunno whether they'll be delayed or not)

you can pre-order/order from overseas. handtec/clove/other sites have been selling bundles (at a very good price - <$500 USD), should be shipped to USA around end-september.

z3 compact won't have band 12 compatibiliy (if you are on T-mobile). The D5803 model sold by clove (and other sites) will work on AT&T LTE (2, 4, 17... no band 30, but AT*T doesnt really use it yet)
