The east side 101 is pretty well covered all through Scottsdale. Dunno what intersections are watched tho. Just don't do anything more than 9mph over. They start snapping at 10 over.
I haven't been on the 101 yet but i've been on the 202 loop, 60, I-10... I imagine I'll get a lot more familiar with the area once i move to tempe cause I've been heading up there every once in a while from Casa Grande, it's a nice big change from Idaho
I live in scottsdale and there are tons of cameras. I'm not sure if the ones at traffic lights flash you for speeding, I know they do for running the light tho. There are also vans parked on the side of the road w/ cameras set up. Also the 101 now has 4(I think?) cameras installed on it.
Ok so it sounds mainly like you shouldn't speed on 101, and while in scottsdale.. I don't really speed in towns but I have been speeding on the big roads.
Red light cameras are everywhere in the phoenix region. Speed cameras on highways are currently 'only' on the 101 from Shea to Scottsdale Rd (as mentioned above), as far as I know.

Not 100% true in Scottsdale, we love them here for some reason... there's one on Hayden and Indian School, and another on Hayden south of Shea, and north of Indian Bend, though I can't remember the intersection
