Phishing Filters

From what i've researched, most occurances of Phishing occur via email. They also happen mostly to people not paying attention but reguardless. You about have to intentionally allow this to happen these days with tools put in place prior to IE7 built in Phishing Filter.

1. Most ISP's have state of the art spam filters therefore your not gonna show in my inbox unless you are in my address book or an allowed domain. I get NO spam in my regular non web based email at all and very little in my web based email *Gmail*.

So if you eliminate spam email Phishing what are the risks? How many times do you visit a site you never intended to let alone give out privacy informatin about yourself? I can see how it might be useful to less educated and web savvy people but no other group if you will.

Anyways seeking your opinions. Do you use or don't you use IE7 built in phishing filter or any phishing filter for that matter?.

I don't use any type of phishing filter, since I work in IT security. When I set up a computer for someone else though, I always activate or install whatever phishing tools are available (IE7, Norton's Phishing filter, etc.)

I work in IT security and I use phishing filters (IE7, Outlook 2007). If for no other reason than to set a good example for others.

If you are a disciplined user, and avoid clicking on e-mail links, there is no point. Even when I get my monthly e-mail notice from Cingular that my statement is ready, I go to the site via either a bookmark or a typed url, as I advise everyone else to do. The best phishing filter is the one between your ears.

Besides, ever since McAfee's SiteAdvisor flagged Betanews :|, I've never trusted any of them.
