I enjoyed my philosophy class but I think I actually had a decent prof. We would read several sides of any argument and he spent equal time in class covering all sides. Really the worst part of the class were the other students who would bring their heavily politicized/religious view into every discussion trying to make everything lib vs. con or christian vs. everything else.

There was a hardcore Jesus fanatic in one of the philosophy classes I took in college. Damn near everything she said involved Jesus in some manner, and any arguments she'd make seemed to assume that "Jesus" was the magic word to instantly and simultaneously end and win a debate. It really didn't work out so well for her, and she ended up dropping the course in less than 2 weeks.I enjoyed my philosophy class but I think I actually had a decent prof. I took a couple of classes in formal logic, one in informal logic / critical thinking, and a philosophy of science class for breadth of study requirements and all were at least mildly interesting.
They were also pretty easy since I was a comp sci major with a minor in applied math.

Philosophy is a walk on the slippery rocks.
