Philly fans have no class

background: Philly fan behind the first base dugout shines green laser pointer into the eyes of Cardinals players at bat. After the game is stopped nobody in the section points out the clown responsible.

conclusion: Mr. Laser pointer and everyone that kept their mouths shut are jackasses.

Surprising, actually. I would expect rabid sports fans to oust someone doing something like that. Possibly even beat the ever living shit out of him.

I wouldn't blame everybody for it. Could be some random jackass hiding a laser pointer. He's a moron for doing it for sure, but the rest of the folks really might not have known who it was.

This makes me think, what stops someone from bringing a gun into a sporting event and start randomly shooting players? That's kinda scary when you think about it, as it could very easily happen. There are lot of insane people out there. A laser pointer is no joke either though, that can seriously harm the eyes permanently.

I don't know about the baseball parks you go to but the ones where I live have these ingenious devices called metal detectors. A laser pointer is easier to hide than a gun. Just keister it.

They should strip search the entire section I bet someone would give him up then.

So you'd violate the rights of all the people in the section just to find 1 guy?

I really doubt that this is a regional thing, there are douche bags everywhere, unfortunately.

You obviously don't know about Philly sports.

They make up for it though in that the flyers are the dirtiest team in the NHL, which will be even worse now with pronger.

Didn't philly fans throw batteries at santa clause?

nobody will point out because it's a laser sight instead of a laser pointer.

Is there a difference?

In any case, this happens at many other stadiums not just Philly. It's a shame one fcktard has to stop the game b/c he enjoys acting like a 9-year old.

I'm a huge Philly fan and I'll admit I'm a fucking asshole when it comes to sports but if someone was doing this in my section I'd call 'em out for it. Did anyone think that if the laser was in your section it would be pretty hard to see? The guy next to you could be the one and you'd never know. Probably better off asking the people directly on the other side.

Laser sight would be attached to a gun

.

Mainly in the mounting and the inclusion of adjustments for windage and elevation for aligning the beam at a given distance so the slug strikes where the dot shines. The laser module on a sight will be more accurately aligned than a pointer but the beam itself is very similar in both power and divergence.

A (legal) laser pointer will not cause eye damage at any distance. The distraction it can cause is bad enough, however. If it were home made from a blue ray burner or a green laser module well in excess of 5mW then yes it can cause eye damage and using one like that in public is quite foolish let alone shining it in someone's eyes! :disgust:
