I also use this monitor, and it is really nice. It has a short-neck tube, which allows it to be noticeably smaller than most 19 inch monitors out there. Basically I trust this monitor over the samsung competition, because it is a professional class monitor and I trust Philips more than Samsung to use high quality electrical components (the electrical components can have almost as much impact on monitor quality as the tube itself, which is why cheap monitors are rarely a good idea).
About the screen curvature, I have not found it to be a problem, since it only appears at refresh rates in excess of 100 hz, which is plenty for just about any resolution (I can't really notice the difference beyond 100hz, except for down at 640x480, yet I can notice the difference up to 100 hz).
As for the moire I can't say I have had any trouble there either. There is an adjustment if required. Both these things can often be affecting by where a monitor is situated. Mine sits in front of a solid concrete wall, so that may help a little.
