Philips SA107 RUSH! 64MB MP3 Player @ overstock for 99.00 or less

I got one of these things. Doesn't seem to work with Win2K, battery life isn't too great, sound quality isn't quite there/loud enough.

USB transfer is pretty quick but the "Real Jukebox" program used to transfer files isn't the best.

Overall, i give it 3:5 stars.

Most solid state mp3 players have low battery life. In fact, almost all mp3 players have low battery life. That's why I went with minidisc instead. with the mdlp feature, which let u record over 5 hrs on 1 md (the quality is on par with wma) and net md (comes out in march, u can pre order now) which lets u transfer songs at 32x realtime (that's a norm for mp3 players, but md ppl had to deal with real time transfers until now). The feature that md have that totally kicks mp3 players all over the place is battery life. I have yet to see a minidisc player that can't play for a minimum of 40 hrs on one new battery (usually an AA or a special lith ion from sony) compare to 4 hrs on my old d-link (not the best brand, i know) mp3 player using 2 AAA. Some md players claim to have 155 hrs of play time (which would require 38 3/4 x 2 batteries on my mp3 player). Just imagine the amt of money u have to spend. I don't care what kinda of deal u can get from costco, that is just not worth it imo.

N0pers0nality - You may want to put in your title that this is a refurb.

Target was selling these for 269.00 last summer. I bought mine on clearance for $74 at Target in Novermber. You can download most media at Audible.com at put in on the Rush as "type 4" media. A book plays about 4 hrs at a time in segments with type 4 compression if I remember correctly.

I was just fiddling with my rush about an hour ago which ended in frustration again.

I HATE Philips. I HATE their website. I HATE their customer service. You can't even find the unit on their website- at least I couldn't.

I can't get the darn thing to work on XP and can't find a player that will recognize the device other than the crappy Jukebox that comes with it which seems to be limited to 96kbps.

I bought mine also at Target for $69 several months ago. I think I'm gonna ebay the sucker and get me an mp3/cd player.

If anyone has this thing working in XP or 2K let me know.

Other than that I guess it could be a good player, but I wouldn't know!

See ya!
