Philips Pronto TS1000 Remote $84.62 + ~$10 shipping (refurb)

Just received an email from Philips that their Pronto Universal Learning Home Theater Remote TS1000 is $84.62 + shipping. Good price on this remote, refurbished.

Check out their website for more info. According to the email, there are only 99 left. Some people at Remote Central say they've ordered and actually recieved the 2000 unit instead--which is the same, but with double the memory.

for people on a tight budget, you can get a Sima SUR-25 for less than $50 shipped at many place. It has a big touch screen and some hard buttons. I like it better than Pronto.

Thanks for the deal, I hopped on this right away. I was looking at this remote in the stores, but couldn't justify the $250 price tag. This price is a little easier to swallow.

also check out the radioshack jp1 and other remotes at the yahoo group (search for jp1)

this remote is $25 and, with a jp1 cable/IR software can be programmed via your pc to control about everything and it has an x10 button on it too for those interested in basic home automation.

pluses for this remote include a nice backlight for the buttons and REAL buttons not a touch screen. Looks lower tech but easier to navigate in the dark IMO.

AFTER PROGRAMMING THIS REMOTE ITS SIMPLE FOR THE FAMILY TO USE...AND YOU WONT CRINGE WHEN YOUR LITTLE ONES PICK IT UP BEC IT WAS ONLY $20 AND REPLACEABLE.

Alright so I jumped on this one..... getting excited now. The funny thing was just this morning I was at Best Buy to check out remotes. I am in the market for a "programmable" one since I have a million of them at home and my Sony DirecTivo remote is dying on me. Thanks, great deal!

Do you really think the posts will be able to give you a % on getting the 2000? If you want to be sure to get the nicer model, you'll have to spend the extra $100+ to get it. how bad do you really need the extra memory?

It does say to check back later. From Remote Central, it apparently went out of stock on Feb 14 as well, and they got more. So, who knows...

Yeah, but how many more refurbished Prontos do you expect to see, given that this model has been out of production for quite a while? I doubt they will get many more in, the "check back later" is most likely a form message for out of stock items....

It was/is a great price though, I'm already gathering the codes for all my equipment. I wish their tracking page told me something more useful than approved....
