A heads up and sorry if its a thread crap, but I picked up this TV at Wal-Mart for right around $500 brand new since it was on clearance. Appears to offer everything this Phillips does and I can personally attest to it bing a great TV. I believe its well liked over at AVSForums as well.

hmmm...good deal, but only 90 day warranty. Is there any way to buy an extended warranty for this?

Good luck with this TV. I bought this TV new in the box from Best Buy when it was on sale with some gift cards, and ended up returning it for a sweet Sony 30" model. The Phillips suffered from horrible geometry, and the upper left part of the screen had a permanent green tint to it, like it needed to be degaussed. Turning it on and off did not fix the tint, nor did a professional degaussing coil. I gave it a week, and ended up taking it back. There were never any speakers near the upper left corner, and I didn't drive under any powerful magnetic fields on the way home that would have caused it. I even opened the TV up and took out the internal speakers just in case they were causing magnetic interference.

If you get a unit that works properly, this is a good deal. If not, prepare to be distracted from what should be an otherwise gorgeous HD picture.

Just my $0.02.

it doesn't have any warranty plus no guarantees on refurbished that it will be good as new. Also shipping and handling r our to deal with if something is wrong. Thought about it but prices of TVs are coming down. COnsidering my HDTV has crashed twice already and was covered in warranty so it was fixed i would pass on it
