So if President Obama orders some black teens to deal drugs, and one of them shoots and kills a guy, and then hides out at one of his friends house would anyone consider it just to arrest the friend 70 years later for being complicit in the murder?

What part of the question is up to the German legal system are you unable to understand?

I don't get this, why bother with this now. He has lived his full life.

Is that a serious question?

And how many of those victims is the man alleged to have killed?

If you can't go after those that actually orchestrated the killing go after the low level guards who were near the camps to assuage your guilt!

So, can't deal with women, issues with gays and now defending Nazis. Dude, you are soooo cool...

Maybe we should round up every person who ever voted for the Nazi Party and put them in some kind of camp? No one with even a cursory connection to the Holocaust should be let free!

Would that make you feel better?

When did this asinine "have sympathy for fugitive Nazis because they got away with it and now they're ooold so boo hoo" movement get rolling?

Track down, chase down, hunt to the ends of the globe every last one of these dirt bags, and throw as many in jail as possible, even if they're 105 years old with 1 day to live.

If there were any shred of true justice in this world, the same would extend far beyond Nazi war criminals and include communist thugs, dictators and their various acomplices that have also been responsible for crimes against humanity.

Like you actually give a damn.

Your toaster is calling troll boy.

I just don't think the images are necessary to prove your point. Embedded into a public forum? We've all seen them, but normally not by surprise and for no good reason.

maybe not necessary but it seems some have exactly forgotten what the Nazi's did.

This guy was a guard. Everyone from teh guard, accountants, etc at that camp should be held.

I don't care if the are 89 or 109.

Oh dear....

Can't defend your poor choice to link them here, can you? Let's embed pictures of genocide on a forum with 10 000 current users to help argue against a few people who have demonstrated themselves to be idiots, nevermind the fact that your intended audience are exactly the people least likely to be affected by them anyway. Brilliant.

Nobody has forgotten. Nehalem will argue anything, for no reason at all. And the other people are just thick. But even if they weren't, the point of disagreement couldn't possibly be influenced at all by the images. Oh, that's what genocide looks like. Oh, okay. Mind changed. I guess he isn't too old to face justice, if THAT'S what it looks like.

ridiculous. It's gratuitous and self-serving.

What people miss is working at SS extermination and work camps was a volunteer job from private to the top. So "i was just following orders under penalty of death" was not a valid defense at Nuremberg for them. In fact whole SS was volunteer but took an especially depraved individual to work the camps. Again cya.

I'm sure they have good evidence. Germans can't tie their shoes without writing it down and microfilming it. They kept very thorough records.

I don't often (ever) agree with Zaap, but Zaap is right on here.

Do I stand alone in protest?

This man has lived another life for 70 years. Clearly peaceful enough not to draw attention. He likely has friends and family who you wish to see suffer. I condemn this action against him. All you're doing is digging up old wounds that should be laid to rest.

He is not a threat to society, he is probably frail and soon to pass from this world. Must there be venom, and hatred in your hearts? You claim to do this in opposition to 70-year old war crimes, but your actions honor such evil by continuing the pain unto this day.

There are better, more meaningful ways to guard against such horrible acts. None of them involve harming his family now. Let the old man rest. Let the war rest. It's over.

They can show factual inconsistencies with his story and what he said his role was. We should never give any one of the monsters a pass. Whether they be generals or lowly guards, they know right from wrong. They knew what they were doing. Future generations should know that they will be held accountable for their actions in war.

That said, he will be granted a trial.. They aren't just taking him and locking him up and throwing away the key.

I wholeheartedly agree. So when are we prosecuting commies, dictators, Western presidents and admins?

Stand around while some Jews are killed in your general vicinity. Fight on the Eastern Front.

Which would you choose?:hmm:

Stalin and the USSR killed more people. Should we hunt down every member of the Russian military from that period?

How about Afghans. They are associated with September 11th, should we genocide the countryside? Their young men were probably forced to join Taliban militias. Can we nuke it from orbit just to be sure?

At some point you call off the war, you cease fire, you end the circle of violence and choose to live - and let live. You don't go digging at old wounds hoping to cause further pain.

Enough people suffered for WW2, there doesn't need to be any more.
