Anyone who actually LIVES in philadelphia will tell you that most mom and pop italian pizza shops have better cheesesteaks than Pats or Genos. My personal experience has been that the two best cheesesteaks I've ever eaten, came from Jims on South Street, and A&Gs in Wilmington Delaware.

Pat's or Geno's ... the biggest debate in Philly regarding food. it's sad but the BEST place to grab a cheesesteak is either Jim's on South St or the little known John's Roast Pork on Snyder Ave.

yeah i usually get my cheesesteaks from food trucks or smaller shops...i only go to jims/pats/genos when i'm taking someone around cause they wanna know whats it all about.
