Phew, finally the Braves are in the playoffs.

I don't like the Cards, but I like them a lot more than the Braves. Rooting against Boston is always fun.

I wonder who the Yanks will start against Tampa Bay? My guess is either Michael Kay or George Costanza. :D

I find it somewhat hilarious being that I hate the Braves for as long as I remember and now living in the city. If only Georgia U football went sub-500 for the next 20 years.

OMG UGA fans are horrid. They are almost as bad as Auburn or Wisconsin fans.

I find it funny that Boston fans have to root for the Yankees.
Will that Yanks even try to win?

Of course once in the playoffs anything can happen. Just look at the Giants last year. You got 2-3 great pitchers who can go 6-7 innings then a bullpen to handle 7-8-9 and a few timely hits and you win.

Yup, that's why playoffs are stupid. But then, so are most sports fans, so they don't care.

I remember when Randy Johnson and Curt Shilling won... oh, I'm sorry, I meant the Arizona Diamondbacks, won a world series.

Not seeing the issue here.

"Dellin Betances, one of the Yankees' top pitching prospects, will make his first MLB start. Betances went 4-9 with a 3.70 ERA in 25 MiLB starts, 21 at Double-A, four at Triple-A. He walked four and hit a batter in two-thirds of an inning in his Yankees debut."

UGA fans are horrible because they feel their team is important despite not having any national relevance in college football since the early 80's. At least Auburn and Wisconsin have been part of the BCS bowl games in recent times.

What an epic collapse by the Braves and Red Sox. I think the Braves won something like 6 of there last 28 games. A team that struggles that bad going into the playoffs doesn't deserve a spot.

I agree. They wouldn't have been worth a damn in the playoffs anyway considering the reason for their collapse was an injured pitching staff. The pitching got them where they were to begin with since the offense has pretty much sucked all year (and has in Atlanta for as long as I can remember).

LOL @ sox. Didn't watch the game, but I heard it ended on walk off fashion. Let me guess...it was Papelbon and he kept throwing fast balls....

I used to be a huge sox fan, but honestly, I really feel like the passion of the game was lost when the new management took over.

Yep. They were down to 1 strike and he fucked it all up! I hate that deep breath look down then slowly look up move that he does before every pitch. Looks so retarded!

I do too but it wasn't all Papelbon's fault. What about the play Crawford tried to make in left? It was what really drove the nail into the Red Sox coffin. It certainly wasn't no routine fly ball catch but if he stayed on his feet instead of sliding he probably catches that ball.

Kind of amazing no more than 5 minutes(?) after the Red Sox collapse Evan Longoria hits the winning home run to get the Rays into the post season. One of the callers into a local sports station was trying to make the case that NY knew the Sox's just lost and intentionally gave up the HR so there wouldn't be a tie breaker between Rays and Red Sox. lol
