Wow, omg.. you completely shot him down. Hell.. AMD might as well give up since you've already decided. Damn.. that company.. Intel.. man.. they can NEVER be beat. They could NEVER lose the speed crown.

Good for you man... I'm keeping my options open, may the best win. If Intel beats AMD this round again i'm moving back to the blue camp. I'm just waiting to see Phenom's potential or lack of it.

Jealousy is an ugly emotion. Deep down he wants a Penryn too.

I doubt CPU-z is reading the vcore correctly. How many versions of CPU-z did it take to read Core 2 vcore correctly after it came out? Yea I thought so...

This looks promising, if this is true even if this 2.3ghz quad only beats a 2.1 or 2.2ghz penryn 1V is pretty impressive. Also this has slightly more credibility than that inq. article with the 3dmark scores, especially since it has screens(not saying it is). This does however fit into what AMD has been claiming about power consumtion and what we have seen of what might be "overdrive"(though AMD also claimed some sort of 10-20% IPC advantage too).

im rooting for amd. 2.3ghz @ less than 1v is impressive, especially on a 65nm process. hopefully that is true.

If true, it's obvious why AMD is limiting the initial release speeds of Phenom X4.

Considering it took 1.5V to overclock the X4 to 3GHz, I think 2 - 2.5GHz @ ~1V may be the ideal clockspeed range for Phenom at this stage. It may not match the IPC of Yorkfield or even Kentsfield, but it'll certainly be more power efficient than the Q6600, and probably give upcoming Yorkfields a run for it's money in terms of power efficiency.

I'm pretty sure on the overclock boards, the Vcore being misread is the consensus. Would be nice but if Vcore will still be rocketing to +1.4v just to complete with Penryn.
