I don't know what is wrong with my CPU. I run Prime95 and 1 CPU always fails after about 5 seconds. Its never the same CPU either. OCCT also fails after a few seconds. I've updated my BIOS and chipsets and the problem still persists. I haven't unlocked any of my cores or changed any settings in the BIOS

Phenom x2 555 BE
ASUS m4a785-m
4 gigs ddr2
Windows 7 64 bit

I've tried to increase my CPU voltage but it never successfully boots up when I do. Does anyone know what is wrong with my CPU?

What is the difference between auto and default BIOS settings? Also, another problem I just experienced was screen tearing when I was playing a game. Which led to my computer crashing.

Have you used a different CPU with the same mb and memory? There is no good reason for the 555 not to run at stock voltage on stock(2 cores). I would suspect other components unless the CPU is the only change.
