I just initiated the BFG trade up program to move from a 9800GTX to a 295. I currently have a AMD 6000+. Should I spring for the 940 or will the 920 suffice?

That's a pretty system upgrade!
Since you say your board is a bad overclocker, you may be better off with a Phenom II 940 - with an unlocked multiplier the board isn't as much of a factor, as long as it can deliver the power needs (which shouldn't be too big of a problem considering these Denebs consume much less than the 9850/9950). You can get a 940 for $260 @ newegg if you enter AMD1815 as a promo code. Phenom II 940 @ 3.6-3.8GHz + GTX 295 is looking like a much better setup IMO

Without knowing your monitor resolution it's hard to say ... I'm guessin' it's pretty high.

No overclocking here, my MB is a dog for OCing. I can barely get my 6000+ @ 3.1 gigs to 3.25. Thats with a 1.5 vcore, so I just leave it stock. I have a M3N78-VM. I like the board and I chose it for reasons other than overclocking.

Actually, your mobo might not be a dog for OCing. The 6000+ is pretty close to the ceiling for what the X2's can hit, so it's natural that there's not much overhead.
I have a GF8200-based motherboard and overclocked a X2 4000+ by nearly 50%.

Agreed! the 6000+ is the dog to overclock its probably not a board issue. I would spring for the 920 you will probably be able to get it to around the same OC as a 940.

Definitely the 940, the unlocked multiplier is worth the extra bucks.

Took my 9800GTX out of the case and boxed it up for BFG. While I was in there I noticed that I only have an Antec Neo Power 550. Not gonna cut it if some of these benchmarks are to be believed.
Anyone know a good modular PSU that won't break the bank. Modular is a must as there is no place in my tiny case to put the un-used cables. I could just stick them between the CPU and the ram.....or I could just get a modular PSU.
