Phenom 9100e Quad Core

I recently bought a cheap gateway computer and was wondering if someone could tell me a little about the processor it came with. I used to build computers so I know terms, but last time I built a computer intel was just coming out with there duel core. Basically the processor, as the title says, is a Phenom 9100e quad core. the vista raiting on the processor is 5.7 (although I've found there ratings don't really mean much) how good is this in comparison to the newer chips coming out now? I know it isn't anywhere as good as anything new coming out now, but I'm trying to get an idea of the quality.
 
It's a low-power low-heat Phenom I, B2 Stepping (good), at 1.8Ghz. Probably highly overclockable for a Phenom I, starting at such a low clock speed.

Most of those Gateways use standard case size and mounting. You may look into 9100E overclocking results of people with popular Phenom AM2+ boards, and see if it might be worth dumping your OEM gateway board on Ebay or whatever, and making the upgrade + an overclock. Your warranty will be kaput in that case, but really, replacing components these days is incredibly cheap, and IMHO preferable to waiting for the warranty back-and-forth unless you're dealing with a $$$ notebook.

EDIT : A Test, and an overclock to 2.4ghz on stock volts, with a 790FX mobo. That's speed of a Phenom X4 9750. Not too shabby at all. Apparently the limit for overclocking is not the CPU, but rather the capability of the 790FX chipset to reach high FSB.
