a phaser is a continuous beam, can't deflect it. wide field would kill a bunch of jedi at the same time. minus that though, jedi would wipe the floor with red shirts

if by "Phasers" you mean "Penis Pumps" then yes, I agree in every way possible.

Light sabers look way cooler though. Plus you get to wear the awesome, comfortable Jedi robes when wielding them. I'd hate to have to wear those skin tight Federation uniforms.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Jedi are fast enough to block 2 bolts with the saber.

The trick is to shoot THREE bolts not in a straight line.

Then again, they'd probably just use the force to know what you're thinking before you act it out and be prepared to dodge instead of deflect.

They think of everything o_O
Phasers are not restricted to columnated beams. They can be broad and effect a large field of targets at once. I could use one on a bunch of snobbish Jedis and render them unconscious and steal their pressures toys while casually changing the setting to kill and dicing them off one at a time.

That was due solely to the E-11. The weapon had to be produced so fast to account for troop numbers that the precision needed to make a quality weapon was ignored. There are plenty of sharp shooter troopers with alternative weapons. Even Holdout blasters, the tiny derringer-like weapons, are more accurate than the E-11 and they've got like 1/10th the length of barrel.

Sorry.

I'm a huge star wars nerd. :(
Supercharged high-speed particles and the aim is horrible? Have they never heard of shotguns?

They probably also should have looked into either a better subcontractor, or maybe more subcontractors. Logistics and proper supply chain management matters, even for evil supervillains!

Except for one way in which they are equal: neither is real
Yesterday, I listened to two people emphatically discussing fantasy football for no less than 20 minutes.
But that is ok, because it's about fictional arrangements of heavy millionaires in Spandex playing with a ball.

In A New Hope Obi Won states that the burn marks were far too accurate for the sand people and that it must have been imperial storm troopers yet when in firefights with imperials the troops couldn't hit the barn.

Just imagine how much time you would waste adjusting your shirt!

So just imagine how bad the sand people are at aiming!

Or maybe Sand People couldn't hit sand in a desert.

Of course they also took potshots at the podracers and were pretty darn accurate.

force grip, drag over ledges, drop.

You used to do that too? :)

Or the other favourite tactic, when a number of storm troopers are ahead, force pull their weapons from them, then have fun cutting down a load of defenceless people :)

Remember, your y-chromosomally deficient coworkers are also wearing those same skin tight Federation uniforms. Sometimes, it's not so bad to suffer a little bit.
