Pharmacy Botched My Prescription...

First they lost it. I had to drop off the scrip from my doctor and come back in an hour, according to them. I get back and they can't find the scrip, the drugs, or any record of my account.

They finally got things straightened out after another twenty minutes or so, turns out they had two accounts listed for me, one with a misspelled name. Now I check the bottle out at home and find out that instead of the Vicodin the doctor wrote the scrip for, they gave me Ibuprofen. :-/

ugh. you are fvcked then.

when it comes to pain meds i check and count before i leave. because they will NOT (well odds are against you) give you more.

The bottle has the date, ID of the pharmacy, and indicates Ibuprofen, so it's not like they gave me the wrong drug in the right bottle. Hopefully I can get them to check it against the scrip, or have my doctor fax them another one. I wonder what is listed on my account in their system now, and if the person that botched the order in the first place is now at home popping Vicodin.

you might be able ot get it refilled. but i would be suprised. though they should be able ot see that you did not have a supscription for ibraprofan so you sholdnt have got it. but they will look at you as a druggie and not beleive you.

i am not sure someone did so they can take it. usually when they do that they have it marked as vicoden and fill it with something else.

definitely go back to the pharmacy. They can check it against the hard copy & see they messed up. Bring everything with you, receipt, bottle, and the tablets. The hard copy itself should have something (a label of some sort) from the script they filled for you - and it'll say ibuprofen, not vicodin as it should. You should be all set with this, although its always tricky when dealing with schedule 2 drugs.

Yeah, I was hoping the fact that I had a bottle of something from them that they can't produce a prescription record would make them realize their mistake. I just hope they filed the scrip and didn't throw it out or something.

They've "forgotten" that my prescription is for 3 bottles of insulin a month and only gave me 2 before several times, but they've always made it right the next time and made up for it.

I don't advise using it to rinse toothpaste out of your mouth. It's.....unpleasant.

Why would they need to even have prescriptions for a non-prescription drug?

Bigger doses you can't get in OTC strength.

Can't you just take more of the OTC pills? Like if the dose is for 1000mg, just take 5 200mg tablets?

I don't think safety is much of a concern if you are into vicodin and alcohol (and any other combination of club drugs and alcohol). lol.
