Pharmacutical Plant in Kinston, NC Blows Up

Company is West Pharmacutical. Their stock trading has been halted.
 
Apparently, the plant is very close to a school (1/2 mile). The school is currently in lockdown.

One witness says that a plane crased into it, but others deny it.

Edit: Principal says all students have either been evacuated, or moved to the High School.
 
Hospitals in Durham and Chapel Hill have been told to expect injuries and casualties. They're about 100 miles away from Kinston.

The factory makes syringes.

I've been watching this for sometime. When I drove an 18 wheeler, I had been there for pick up. I am waiting to see the casualty report. There where alot of people that worked there. No one has said what caused it yet. That is a mighty explosion to throw the roof 400 feet inot the woods. Anyone unddr that roof must certainly be in harms way in a big way.

Prayers to those injured and their families. This is tragic.🙁

Perhaps they received a bunch of GF FX equipped PC's and turned them on all at the same time? 😉 Sorry couldn't resist!

Yes the explosion was very powerful as it was reported that it blew out windows in houses over a mile away! This was an internal explosion at that. I don't know what kind of compounds they have on premises that can be such strong propellants. Accidental or not, this is quite tragic. 🙁
