Baby seats are really not very safe. I would get one of those pull-behind thingys, but they're $, I have no place to put it, and I don't trust our drivers here that much.

really? we were thinking about getting one for flying baby but if they're really not safe then we'll have to look into other solutions.

The problem is that if you tip over, the kid's head gets augered into the ground from 5 feet up. Even with a helmet on, that's not a good thing. The pull-behind trailers (Burley makes nice ones) are much safer and can carry two kids if you really want to build up your quads.

It was about 50 feet in a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood with no through streets (read: zero traffic). I've been racing bikes for 15 years, so I'm a better than average pilot. 😉

hmm, that's true. i'll just have to install an ejector seat with a gyroscopic monitor i guess 😉
