I am running the EVGA 730a with the latest bios.

I have a Phenom II x4 940, and it doesn't show as a Black Edition in CPU-Z.

I've tried changing the multiplier, and it does nothing.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

CPU-z Doesn't seem to report BE CPUs as Black Editions. Doesn't seem to for mine either anyway.

When you change the multiplier in the bios, Your clock speed doesn't change at all?

No it doesn't.

The 730a uses hex codes for multipliers, and at default its at 0e (x15).

I'm trying to bump my multiplier up to 17.5 which is hex 13.

When i change it, nothing happens. One thing i've noticed though, is where it should say Black Edition on post, it's just a huge space lol.

That's not good at all.

Does the Motherboard have some kind of lock/unlock feature?

Isnt 0F in hex = 15, 0E would be 14. And hex 13 would = 19 decimal, not 17.5

I got the same motherboard and the same cpu, are you sure that you put the CPU FID at 13? I run mine at 17.5x200 vcore 1.45
