I'm addicted to PGR2! I've put on about 38 hours since I got it Friday night. I have work, and a girlfriend, yet I some how put almost 40 hours into a game in only 5 days, with maybe only 10 or so online. I'm not even done with the game, I have half the cars unlocked, and I still on American Muscle, which is about the 5th or 6th series from the top, and I havn't even started with the Car challenges or anything yet, just the Kudos World Series. My finger is sore from racing so much, its red. I logged in more hours today than I'm comfortable sharing with you all.

Single player is alright, I was having a great time just trying to do the tracks, I was playing and practicing to get ready for online.... But I didn't think the Online mode would be so fun!

Online is total gaming bliss, rarely lags, awesome competition, lots of games to choose from, (mostly) friendly people, and such a high degree of skill needed to win. One big mistake can cost you the race, as well as a mistake by the opponent can give you the win. Its great pushing the cars to the limit without wiping out. The game is so fun!

Tracks are definatly awesome, I love the Nurburgring, 13 miles of twisting and turning bliss. So many different tracks to choose from as well, Capital Thrill, KGB Circle, and St Basil's Circle are some more of my favorites. But nothing compares with Nurburgring. Tons of cars as well, 100+, in 13 different catagories. I like the Super Car, Track Specials, and Grand Touring the best. I'm not a big fan of the super duper amazing wondercars. While the Enzo and gang are awesome cars, I perfer something like a Ferrari 360, a Corvette Z06, Ferrari 575, etc. Fast, but not too fast.

Graphics are amazing, definatly the best looking racer, probally about the same as SegaGT2002 (both look amazing), no slowdowns, and the track and cars are graphically amazing.

Sounds is pretty good, I really didn't pay too much attention to it, but the soundtrack is awesome. Great bands like Simple Plan, Trapt, TrustCompany, Glassjaw, The Used, and more. Much better than GT3's horrible soundtrack.

Overall, I havn't been this hyped up about an Xbox game since KOTOR, and I already put more time in PGR2 within 5 days than I have with KOTOR since I got it when it came out. I'm totally addicted, I think it is my favorite Xbox game, and it definatly my favorite Live game. I never had so much fun playing online, IMO, this is the best racer to date. While GT3 is a better simulation, this is just a better (and more fun) racer! I just can't stop recommending this game to anyone who owns an Xbox.

Anybody else find themselves purchasing cars just because they really like them... Not necessarily because they are the best in the class.

Just unlocked a Viper GTS, even though there were better cars in that class. :)

I was about to get this and then a review said that the physics are not realistic because it's an arcade racer, not a simulation game (like GT3). My interest immediately flatlined.

It is good, but it's not an Xbox live game. It's gotten very good ratings.

I love PGR2 also..i am also on the american muscle series also..i find that the medium level is really easy, but hard level is really HARD, hehe, takes perfection for me to get..i dont think i will ever be able to get many platinums..

Unfortunately, both PGR2 and GT* games suffer from AI's that more or less follow the perfect line through the course.

Xbox Live! support is excellent, which makes up for it. I guess in the world of GT* vs. PGR, GT rewards you speediness, while PGR rewards you for flashiness.

GT4 will own ALL, however. 500 cars, rally and street courses, full car customization, online support...it will be the end of mankind.

Guys how lame is the driving in it physics-wise? Because I detest arcade racers. Is it to the level of lameness where you can be taking a corner too fast, hit the brakes, and end up pulling through (like on I think need for speed 3)?

It won't be on xbox though, right? GT3 was definitely one of the better, if not the best car game ever made. The GT series pins down racing physics nicely, and I always thought that car games with fake physics were garbage. The need for speed series for the most part has been great, other than a couple of bad apples here and there.

How's PGR2 compared with the first one ? I have the first one and it's so damn frustrating after a certain point. What're the improvements ? I suspect it's just as difficult.

Skoorb: It's actually quite fun IMO. You cannot just make a full stop. I should take a video of me playing. I might do that later this evening :)

From everyone I've talked to, including myself, PGR2 is a bit easier than the first one.

As for braking/cornering, it was definitely easier than GT*. If you were coming into a corner on a bad line, going a little too fast, you could gently squeeze the brake analog halfway and you'd go through the corner nicely. If you squeeze the brake analog all the way, you would usually end up skidding into the wall anyways.

In PGR2 you can choose your own difficulty so depending on who you talk to and what they are trying to do it is either easier or harder. For me it's a bit harder to get all of the platinum medals since you are limited on your car selections to what is available for that series. You can't just get whatever car you like and plow through all of the earlier challenges like you were able to in the original PGR/MSR. But for most people it is a lot easier since they can just choose to finish a race with gold. Gold in PGR2 is much easier than gold in PGR.

Its easier than the first if you go for golds.

I've platnium'd everything through the muscle car series, now I'm working on the sports car series. Platniums are hard as hell!

Actually, the physics in PGR are much better than the standard arcade racer. Hiting the brakes will not automatically pull you through a turn. Sudden jerks on the controller will also cause you to spin out if you are going too fast or too slow. If you just want a test of the game, I would suggest trying PGR since it is cheap ($15 at most places right now). If you like PGR then an upgrade to PGR2 would be well worth getting. otherwise, you can always try a rental place like Game Fly and decide if it's worth laying down money on the game.
