PGP still good?

Is PGP still any good? Is there something better than PGP? Are the older versions of PGP better than the newer ones? I think I have 6.XX something, not sure, haven't used it in a while.

I haven't heard of any reasons not to use it. You can also look into GPG (GNU Privacy Guard).
