pfwin.exe ?????

I am taking over someone's PC at work. It runs sluggishly and I know they have a bunch of crap on here, for example weatherbug. I have uninstalled all the crap I know of but there are probably a few things left which are slowing this machine down.

Possible problem below?:
I have noticed that there are 3 instances of pfwin.exe running, and one of them is using >45 megs of memory. What does pfwin.exe do and why is it on this PC running 3 times? The PC is connected to a server - there is no need for a modem driver that I knwo of, and I think that is what pfwin is, right?

Well, it appears to be an upgrade package for the modem (at least from a quick search). Very weird there would be 3 copies. What does the file version info say (if you search for the file and hit file/properties on it). Could be a bad installer hanging and getting relaunched, or something more nasty that happens to have the same name.
