PF Changs != Chinese food

An entire thread bashing P.F. Chang's and not one acknowledgment of the Great Wall of Chocolate?

Which, of course, is not at all Chinese.

But god damn is that thing fucking delicious.

My gf works at a PF Changs lol. I've told her I'm not impressed by the food in the least, but I do have to concede that they are very good for people with food alergy issues. They have a glutin-free menu and do very well with being aware of food allergy patrons.

Oh, and I can get the great wall anytime she works for like $4. If it wasn't 2000 calories, I would have it every night.

Meh. I've only eaten there once and I found it to be WAY overpriced and small portions. But that's what I expect from trendy L.A. bistros.

This place is a disgrace to asian food, and usually filled with rich white people thinking they are trendy and cool.

Its so fucking gross that I couldn't even stand to finish my dish and complained to the manager about it. I ended up getting the whole dinner for me and two friends for free because even after we got new dishes they were still disgusting enough not to eat.

I like their lemon scallops and the salt & pepper calamari.

I just had the opportunity to visit China over the last 2 weeks. For all you "authentic" chinese prophets out there, it cant get more real than that...lol

The food they serve in restaurants is mildly put "disgusting". I used to love duck and seafood till I saw a duck wide-eyed head in my dish and fishes's with nothing on them except the scales and the head. It was like 2 weeks on the Bizarre Foods show. With the unpalateable meat on offer, we decided to go vegan in the hopes of scoring some delicacies. Well it was just raw seaweed in this and that.

So next time you knock against American pseudo-chinese food, think of the billions of unfortunate people there, eating this crap all their life!!! I also found the reason why chinese folks stuff their face at all-u-can-eat buffets here all the time.

LOL....did you eat in the poor part of China (which is not hard to do).

From the sounds of it, you got on a tourist trap tour. They are very common in China.

Though, you are right...that is what poorer chinese people eat.

LoL at you..

next time take someone that speaks the language with you and have them order for you.
I went to Hong Kong and had fantastic food with a friend that was from there.

same in Taiwan and Singapore.
having a local friend or someone that speaks and reads the language can mean alot

Is it just me or does your second sentence make you look like a spoilt, snobby rich white kid?

So you sent your food back not once, but twice, bitched and moaned until you got three dinners for free... all because you (apparently) didn't care for the food?

I'm sorry you had an unpleasant dining experience, but it's not really representative of Chinese cuisine. Unlike in the US, where pretty much food from anywhere is "average", quality of food in China varies wildly depending on where you go. You can hit up a restaurant opened by some migrant workers who just decided to open up shop even with no background in food preparation (country food sucks BTW), or you can go to somewhere with decades of reputation, or fine restaurants that are $$$.

That said though, I don't mind americanized chinese at all. It can be pretty tasty.

You're a douchebag

Im actually neither rich nor white 🙂

Honestly that's pretty much the first and only time I've ever been bothered enough by food to complain about it to a manager (and I eat out quite a bit) and the only reason I did so was that she was walking around asking how people liked their dishes.

I should have just asked for lettuce wraps after that. Those are actually semi decent.

I've never had real chinese food and I've heard from ppl that traveled there it is terrible.

I'll stick to my americanized chinese food mix of salty/savory and sweet flavors
