that's not fair.

at least Marino made it to a super bowl 🙂

QFT

...and Marino played almost twice as long as Manning has.😉

But why bring logic into the conversation when we can jump to conclusions.

EDIT: with = when

Yep.

Also, FWIW, Peyton has had a much better team than Marino ever had, and hasn't faced the same level of competition that Marino faced.

P Manning > Marino > E Manning

Until Manning proves otherwise, I have to agree with the comparison though. You need to step up when it counts.

In his second year, your point?

Anyone in this thread who knows what they're talking about will also know that Marino was drafted 27th and was the 5th QB picked.

My point?

The Dolphins had the 27th pick meaning they probably already had a sem-decent team built. His Superbowl run most likely had less to do with him and more to do with the route the team had already started down prior to acquiring him.

Peyton, OTOH, was the 1st pick. The Colts were the worst team in the NFL and when they acquired Manning THAT was the beginning of their rebuilding process. The Colts had been improving every season since... up until this last game.

😉

The Dolphins division still is difficult but you are right in the years of Dan the Man they almost always had one of the most difficult schedules.

You can call Marino a choke artist if you want, but I think youre probably reflecting on a few dolphin games out of the very many he played and likely youre thinking end of career games. Honestly he should have left two to three seasons prior to his retirement. He was a hobbled quartback playing with a mediocre OL.. never helps.

If Marino had an Edgerrin James or any sort of decent running game behind him at all he would've been able to go much further. In his 15 year career or however long it was I don't even think he had a back that ran for 1000 yards muchless a probowler.

Edit: He had one, Jabbar who averaged 3.6 yards a carry.

In the post-game interview, Peyton said 'well i don't wanna blame anyone, but we had some protection problem today...'

WTH was that? Was that not putting the blame on his offensive line?
