What a weirdo . Here is a guy with all the money he could ever use,could have a slew of women , and he would rather look at pictures of naked children. He has truely reaped what he has sown .

hmmm interesting, he claims that he was looking at child porn based on a research basis. He also admitted he paid to join a website that had child porn.

Ya know, he's such a strange guy that he might very well be telling the truth. OTOH, if he had any brains he'd realize that he's going to be facing an uphill battle to convince a court (and the fans) of this given the nature of the "research". He's tainted himself forever regardless of what his intentions were. What a sad, pathetic potential end to a great career. :disgust:

Townshend's arrest came as part of Operation Ore, a crackdown on people who view child pornography on the Internet.

British police have arrested 1,300 suspects as part of the sweep, including a judge, magistrates, dentists, doctors and a deputy school headmaster. Fifty police officers also have been arrested, and eight of them have been charged with offenses.

Operation Ore is the British arm of an FBI (news - web sites)-led operation that traced 250,000 suspected pedophiles around the world through credit card details they used to pay for downloading child pornography. The names of British suspects were passed on to police in Britain by U.S. investigators.

1,300 people arrested in England alone out of 250,000 they will be arresting around the world.

That's the tip of the Iceberg, they are preparing to jail 8 million users worldwide for file sharing.

Ouch, only 16% being charged with an offense? And of that 16%, how many will be successfully prosecuted? Unfortunately for the other >84% that are innocent, their lives have already been ruined. What sort of future does a police officer have once he's a suspected pedophile?

I actually love The Who, so don't take these as anti-Townshend, just a quick revision of some of his lyrics.
Although I have been dismayed by their insistence of touring when Entwistle died. That was just wrong. I guess greed wins out in the end.
