Parents in Albany, New York are upset with the prominent animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals) for distributing “Unhappy Meals” to children exiting McDonald’s across the country.

The “Unhappy Meal” is a part of PETA’s McCruelty campaign, which is meant to warn children about the cruelty that PETA says is behind every Happy Meal. From animal cruelty to manipulating advertising that targets children, the charges that PETA is accusing McDonald’s of are expressed through this mock meal. According to Slashfood.com, PETA discontinued campaigns like the McCruelty one for the past nine years because it was working with McDonald’s behind the scene.

Each “Unhappy Meal” consists of an image of a knife wielding Ronald McDonald, pictures of mutilated chickens, a “blood” stained Happy Meal box and a complementary T-Shirt that reads “Chicken McCruelty.” A parent told a local news station that she felt what PETA was doing was unfair to children and young people shouldn’t be exposed to the messages that PETA is trying to get across.

That's what I was thinking, I would wear that t-shirt, but only to steak houses and of course when I order big macs.
 
If someone gave my kid that as I left, and my wife were with me, I'd punch the guy i nthe face and go to jail ... letting my wife take the kids home.
 
I would be polite, take their food, then continue into McDonalds to get the rest of my order.
 
As long as PETA was just getting female celebrities to take their clothes off, they were OK. But this is going too far!

IMO special interest groups should be banned. They serve no purpose.

Read: McDonalds was paying PETA's ransom money to keep them from attacking. MD stopped paying and now PETA is attacking them.

These guys are just like Green Peace, You could be the worst polluter in the world, but as long as you give them their extortion money they will shut up and let you do whatever.

I see that in the same light as "carbon credits" which seem rather silly... but to each his own.
 
Wow. PETA is actually setting back attempts by reasonable people to assure animals are not unecessarily treated cruelly .

I'm fairly certain that PETA believes everything at McDonald's has at least 3 different animals in it. French fries? Cooked in chicken fat, slathered in bacon grease, and salted by drizzling the sweat of a freshly strangled pygmy hog over them. Coke? Flavored with the eyeballs of newborn fawns, humpback whale flukes and pureed kittens. Because PETA is crazy.
 
lol @ peta. See I agree with ethical animal treatment, but some of the stuff they do takes it too far. They should not try to stop meat, what they need to stop is any meat done in a cruel manner. We happen to be on top of the food chain which means it's normal to kill animals for food. I can has cheezburger?
