Pet Insurance

I am thinking about getting pet insurance for my golden retriever from the group here.

If anyone has this or any experience with pet insurance it would be helpful. Is it good or bad idea? Are there hidden things that are not explained such as costs and deductibles and such? Stuff they say is covered and is really not?

Thanks in advance.

I would say it's a very good idea. My family has spent several thousand on our cat recently.

I was thinking the same. We recently spent a couple thousand on a golden who had brain cancer last year and had to be put down. We also have spent about 3k on my black lab who has had to have his achilles tendon surgically repaired.

yep. This cat when we first found her...sweetest thing in the world, but really in bad shape. Urinary tract infection, ear infection, very bad teeth/gum, malnourished. She's doing much much better now (1lbs overweight :0 ...)...but she seems to have a genetic dissposition for poor dental hygine. She's had to have a couple more tooth extractions and the scans/surgery/medication etc cost a ton.

My last two pets (dog/cat) both had cancer : (.
