So this initially began with me trying to find a proxy to bypass the filters at work, and to my luck I found glype.com which allows me to install a script on my server. That's all fine and daddy, but then I started thinking about security at home.

I'm little torn...which do you guys think would be better...

Hosting the script on my site and purchasing a SSL certificate, or using http://www.anonymizer.com/?

just an FYI they will be able to see your proxy use. That in and of itself is usually enough for a termination.

By circumventing their own filters you are basically admitting ot actively violating policy.

Some tricks are the waybackmachine and google cache though.

I've used Anonymizer's products and they are complete crap. In order to use the Anonymous Surfing product, it forced a complete disable of most of the computer's security. Their tech folks were useless; the only suggestion they could offer was to just disable it - why would anyone want a firewall, for heaven's sake?
